Hello,
In light of the recent government advice, I have taken the decision to suspend face to face counselling sessions and offer counselling via telephone as an alternative during this time. This is to help ensure I'm working safely and ethically with clients. Below I am providing information and updates to A Deeper Sense Counselling service; this includes updates to counselling agreements and helpful numbers. I am currently following the advice of the government, the NHS and BACP (my professional body) and will be reviewing this on a regular basis.
If you are a current client, I will contact you regarding your appointment and we can discuss together the difference(s) telephone counselling and whether or not you feel this will be suitable for you. You may prefer to have break during this time, If you have any concerns or questions regarding the below information or sessions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
If you are looking for counselling, I am still offering a 15 minute free telephone consultation; however assessment appointments will now be via telephone not face to face. We could discuss together whether are not you feel telephone appointments will be suitable for you. If you decide to continue to work together all subsequent counselling sessions would be offered via telephone, until further notice. If you would like further information please see www.adeepersense-counselling.com/fees-and-contact
Please contact me if you have any further questions.

How does telephone counselling work?
Telephone counselling sessions are very similar to in-person sessions. Session are either weekly or fortnightly and last 50 minutes.
In order to maintain service routines A Deeper Sense will still be offering available appointments on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
There can be many benefits of telephone counselling, you can have sessions in your own comfortable space, no parking, no travel costs or time etc
Telephone counselling may not be suitable for everyone, if you would prefer face to face (in person or online) sessions, please contact me via email as I am happy to contact you when this becomes available.
What if you or I become unwell?
If I have symptoms such as a temperature or a new cough I will follow NHS guidance at www.nhs.uk and self isolate, I may call 111 if necessary. I will contact you by text, phone call or email if I need to postpone or cancel any sessions.
If you experience symptoms of the virus I would suggest that you also take care to follow the current NHS (www.nhs.uk) and government (www.gov.uk) guidance. If you or I become unwell we may need to take an unplanned break from counselling until fully recovered. We can discuss together what other resources and support you can access to support you in this instance.
If you need to cancel and rearrange your telephone appointment, you can contact me via text or email. Please offer as much notice as possible before your telephone appointment. We may need to cancel appointments at short notice, therefore I will waive cancellation fees during this time, subject to review.
Regarding limits to confidentiality, will I need to share your details?
If I contracted the coronavirus I may be obliged to inform the NHS of people I’ve been contact with. In this case, if we have had face-to face appointments, I may need to share your name and contact details but not the context in which I know you. However, you may be contacted by the NHS. The existing service agreement refers to the limits of confidentiality relating to ensuring your safety and the safety of others.
Will you be able to continue with telephone counselling once normal service is resumed?
Yes: Once face to face sessions are resumed the service will continue to offer both telephone and face to face sessions.
